The "Squid Game" star is making a splash. He's just been cast in a major production.

After the finale of "Squid Game," South Korean actor Lee Jung-jae won't let himself be forgotten. He plays Seong Gi-hun in a new Prime Video production. The platform has greenlit the comedy series "Nice to Not Meet You." The 52-year-old will be joined on screen by "Glory" star Lim Ji-yeon.

This new role marks a complete change in the direction of Lee Jung-jae 's acting career. After three seasons in the thrilling and bloody drama "Squid Game," the Korean actor will be able to shine in a comedic role. In the new production, he will play an actor who has been pigeonholed into detective roles.

Tired of his monotonous work, he seeks more challenging dramatic roles. His fate intertwines with that of a political reporter who is transferred to the entertainment department. The role went to Lim Ji-yeon, critically acclaimed for her performance in the thriller "The Glory."

As Variety points out, "Nice Not to Meet You" will join Prime Video's growing collection of original Korean productions. Prime Video isn't the only platform that adds to its catalog year after year. Without a doubt, "Squid Game," available on Netflix, has significantly contributed to the strengthening of South Korean titles, which are enjoying increasing recognition outside their homeland.

The series will be available in all countries. Subsequent episodes will debut weekly. The series' premiere date has not yet been announced.
